판소리
Pansori
한 명의 사람이 고수(북치는 사람)의 장단에 맞추어 창(소리), 아니리(말), 너름새(몸짓-발림)을 섞어가며 구연(口演)하는 일종의 솔로 오페라다.
‘판소리’는 ‘판’과 ‘소리’의 합성어로 ‘소리’는 ‘음악’을 말하고 ‘판’은 ‘여러 사람이 모인 곳’ 또는 ‘상황과 장면’을 뜻하는 것으로 ‘많은 청중들이 모인 놀이판에서 부르는 노래다.
Pansori is a unique form of solo opera where a single performer weaves together Chang (vocal sounds), Aniri (spoken words), and Neorumsae (gestural dance-balim) to the accompaniment of a master percussionist. The term "Pansori" combines "pan" meaning "place of gathering" or "various situations and scenes," with "sori" meaning "sound," reflecting its origins as music performed in public spaces where large audiences gather.
풍물
Pungmul
풍물놀이(風物)는 농업 사회에서 특별한 날이 있을 때 흥을 돋구기 위해 연주하는 음악으로 '농악(農樂)'이라고도 한다.
꽹과리, 징, 장구, 북, 소고, 태평소 등의 악기를 다루며 기수(깃발 드는 사람), 채상(상모 돌리는 사람), 잡색 등 지역마다 조금씩 변형된 모습을 하고 있다.
Pungmulnori, also known as "Nongak," is a form of music played to celebrate special occasions in agricultural societies. It involves musical instruments such as kkwaenggwari, gong, janggu, drum, sogo, and taepyeongso. Its presentation varies slightly across regions, featuring roles like Gisoo (flag bearer), chaesang (sangmo spinner), and vibrant, colorful displays.

기악에는 산조, 풍물놀이 사물놀이가 있다. 악기를 사용해 음악을 만든다. 대표적인 산조 악기로는 가야금, 거문고, 대금, 해금, 아쟁, 피리, 단소가 있다.
Korean traditional music encompasses sanjo, pungmulnori, and samulnori, all of which utilize various instruments. Representative instruments used in sanjo include the gayageum, geomungo, daegeum, haegeum, ajaeng, piri, and danso.
무용
Dance
한국무(韓國舞)는 우리나라 고유의 대한민국의 춤이다 한국의 전통 문화를 바탕으로 하여 만들어진 모든 종류의 무용을 말한다. 한국무는 크게 궁중무·민속무·가면무·의식무·창작무용 등으로 나눌 수 있다. 그리고 한국무용이라는 말 보다는 한국무 또는 한국춤으로 하는 것이 옳다. 무용이라는 단어는 20세기 이후에 쓰여졌다.
Hangookmu refers to traditional Korean dance, encompassing various forms rooted in Korean cultural heritage. These include court dance, folk dance, mask dance, ritual dance, and creative dance. It's more accurate to use the terms Hangookmu or Hangookchum rather than Hangookmuyong, as the term muyong emerged in the 20th century.
